So its time to sum it up:

  • There was a small keynode with brainstorming about the problem of the "last 10 meters in developing things".
  • After that another brainstormingsession moderated by Robert Lemke with the topic how to get people to contribute to TYPO3 5.0. Several things were decied:
  • after that I was presenting the concept of "languagevisibility", more informations on this will follow here soon.

  • a special TYPO3 5.0 Bug 144 Beer

 

The winners are allowed to be named and linked on a newsentry at typo3.org.

We actually contributed 110 beer for two Bugs (7991 and 4575)

Unfortunatly you have no control of

  • cellspan and rowspan
  • set of classes for rows and cells
  • set other attributes of a cell

 

To achieve this you can use the extension aoe_advancedtable. This enables you to:

  1. cellspan: Use "<" as the first letter
  2. rowspan: Use "^" as the first letter
  3. special syntax allows more: "{<keyword>=<value>;<keyword>=<value>}". Current keywords:
    • rowClass
    • class
    • cellType=header

Look at the screenshots.

Installation:

The extension requires css_styled_content and th_exttableservice from Thomas.

To use it you only have to install the extension and include the static template "Advanced Tables Content" in your main-template ("include static from extensions").

The main idea is to reuse the content stored in the CMS.


The way how it works:

  1. an editor can create a set of contentelements with the help of a backend modul
  2. The set (collection) can be saved for later exporting
  3. The collection can be exported to several target formats:
    • contentelements are exported as XML files
    • XML is transformed with XSLT to several target formats like Latex/Indesign Import ... then

Relevant Use-Cases:

  • collaborative work on print-products
  • Autoexport a printversion of a Webcatalogue
  • generate several handbooks/ flyers etc with the content of your webpage.

The work is supported by AOE media GmbH.

He did really good work and the first result can be viewed as a screecast here:
